Council Questioned Over Kinmel Bay Sign Erected In Llandudno!

So what bright spark puts up a sign saying (Thank you for visiting Kinmel Bay) spells it incorrectly and puts in in the wrong town? You guessed it, Conwy Council! A SIGN thanking drivers for visiting Kinmel Bay has caused confusion among residents - not least because the sign is in Llandudno.

A road sign reading "Thank you for visiting Cinmel Bay", in both English and Welsh, was spotted nearly 17 miles away in Llandudno.

Attached to a lamppost on Lloyd Street, resident Tracey Hughes said the road sign was "very secure" and an "very impressive" feat for whoever had stuck it eight to ten feet up the post.

The sign's English translation also uses the Welsh term for Kinmel - Cinmel. When Ms Hughes asked Conwy Council about the sign, they thought she was "joking", as did the authority's roads department.

"Me and the lady on reception both wondered if it had been an April Fool's prank and had been there ever since," Tracey told The Pioneer.

"The council advised me they where going to remove it as soon as possible so I sadly think it will be gone by tomorrow."

One person joked that the sign could have been put up by "someone missing home", as others pointed out the incorrect English spelling used on the sign. From....https://www.northwalespioneer.co.uk/news/25092956.kinmel-bay-road-sign-llandudno-causes-confusion/
