Conwy Council Care Home Manager Allows Staff To Take Pictures Of Vulnerable Adults On Personal Mobiles!

Thank you to Jane B for this information that was sent in via twitter, , This is a bit scary, the home has not been named and the manager has not been suspended, but a referral to safeguarding was apparently made, however, the care manager did not turn up for one of the meetings! This should have really gone to the Care Inspectorate For Wales, see https://www.careinspectorate.wales/ and the manager suspended. It seems that the manager was allowing staff to take pictures of patients or residents body parts if there was a bed sore or bruise, infection etc on their personal phones and then uploading it to the office via email, or text, one family member witnessed a member of staff taking a picture of a family member in this way! But this could have had major implications for confidentiality and breaches for the residents and Breaches under the care standards in Wales. What is someone kept a picture or posted it online? One also wonders why this has not been in the local press? If anyone knows any more details please get in touch.
