Llandudno... A woman struck police officer after being arrested!

What is happening to Llandudno? This woman SHOULD HAVE BEEN jailed. A WOMAN from Llandudno struck a police officer and called her a “f***ing b****” as she tried to search her.

Sharna Nolasco hit out at PC Lisa Thomas at Llandudno Police Station on June 3, after she had been arrested on suspicion of assaulting her mother.

Nolasco, 44, of Maes Y Cym, was sentenced to 12 weeks’ imprisonment, suspended for a year, at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on July 22, having admitted assaulting an emergency worker.

But at Mold Crown Court today (November 25), her suspended sentence was revoked following an appeal.

Prosecutor Laura Knightly said that, on the morning of June 3, officers at the police station heard a disturbance outside, where they then saw two females shouting at each other.

Following Nolasco’s arrest, she was abusive to officers, and tried to drop to the floor to prevent her being escorted into a police vehicle.

As PC Thomas was conducting a search of her, Nolasco called the officers “f***ing b*******” while trying to pull away from them.

Nolasco, who was under the influence of alcohol at the time, then struck out at PC Thomas with her right knee, and was subsequently further arrested for assaulting an emergency worker.

In July, as well as receiving her suspended sentence, Nolasco was ordered to pay £85 in costs and £250 in compensation.

Representing Nolasco, who had nine previous convictions for 11 offences, Elen Owen said the basis of her appeal was that the “(sentencing) starting point has clearly been well in excess of what the circumstances would suggest”.

Ms Owen added that no injuries were sustained by PC Thomas, who Nolasco struck to her right knee.

She added that the allegation that Nolasco assaulted her mother, which she “strenuously denied”, did not lead to any charge.

Judge Nicola Jones, presiding over today’s hearing with magistrates, agreed to allow Nolasco’s appeal.

In place of the suspended sentence, Nolasco was ordered by Judge Jones to pay a £200 fine and a £80 statutory surcharge. From....https://www.northwalespioneer.co.uk/news/24748235.llandudno-woman-struck-police-officer-arrested/
