Yet another one, but Llandudno does not have a drug problem! A MAN from Llandudno who was caught dealing cocaine, months after being given a suspended sentence for supplying drugs, has been jailed.
Leon Readymarcher, 22, of Ffordd Gwynedd, was sentenced to two-and-a-half years’ imprisonment at Mold Crown Court today (July 29).
He had previously admitted a charge of being concerned about the supply of cocaine. Prosecuting, John Oates told the court that, in November 2023, Readymarcher was jailed for nine months, suspended for a year-and-a-half, for possession of cannabis, possession with intent to supply cannabis, and being concerned in the supply of cannabis.
But months later, police suspected he was again involved in drug supply, and had been using mobile phones to facilitate this.
On May 1, officers executed a search warrant at his grandmother’s Llandudno home – Readymarcher attended the property while it was taking place, was arrested, and had his phone seized.
A search of his own flat then revealed another phone, which had been connected to a number used to advertise the sale of cocaine.
Readymarcher, it transpired, had been involved in cocaine supply since February.
More than 2,300 messages relating to drug supply had been sent, including “40 a go… get on me”
The SIM card used to send the messages had been used in four different phones, meanwhile.
Defending Readymarcher, Simon Killeen said that, despite his client’s 13 previous convictions for 17 offenses, this will be his first experience of prison.
Readymarcher, said to have “embraced” the community-based elements of his suspended sentence order, had been remanded in custody since May.
Sentencing, Judge Niclas Parry told him: “You were given a chance. Within three months, you were offending again.
“This time, (it was) on a more serious level, because we are now in the Premier League - not the class Bs, but the class A drugs.
“It causes misery. It causes criminality.”
Judge Parry revoked the outstanding community aspects of Readymarcher’s suspended sentence and made a deprivation order regarding the two phones and SIM cards.
Readymarcher will pay a statutory surcharge within three months of his release from prison. From.....https://www.northwalespioneer.co.uk/news/24483430.llandudno-man-found-dealing-cocaine-months-avoiding-jail/
