Its all go in Llandudno these days, and this is right in the Tourist area, although I am not sure which hotel it is by! Armed police officers arrested a man and a woman in Llandudno this morning (Wednesday, June 5). The man was wanted in connection with firearms offences in England.
Shortly after 9am, officers converged on a building just off South Parade near the Conwy resort’s seafront. By 11.30am, residents reported seeing a forensics team entering the premises.
The 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of firearms offences. A 23-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. Chief Inspector Caroline Mullen-Hurst said the offences had taken place outside the North Wales Police force area. It is understood the operation was requested by Staffordshire Police.
Chief Insp Mullen-Hurst said: “Following a large presence of armed police officers in the Llandudno area this morning, I would like to reassure residents this was an isolated incident and there is no wider risk to the local community.
“I’d like to thank the community for their understanding and patience whilst we carried out the arrests.”A few hours earlier, firearms officers were also called to an incident in Denbighshire. A man was arrested in the Bruton Park area of Rhyl at around 9.45pm on Tuesday, June 4. There’s more on this here.
