This is all very odd, The owners of these two properties wanted to turn the buildings back into two family homes but were denied by planning due to what the council claimed was for having no affordable element!
Oddly Wales and West has the plans drawn up at the same time even though they did not own the site.
The owners where then forced to sell to Wales and West, which is awful. Having read the policy for affordable housing any development under 10 units should be exempt, let alone two houses!
They would have won on appeal as the councils argument would have fallen apart, but now Wales and West have won, and huge carbuncle block of ugly flats that will visibly destroy the area will sail through planning
It would be fair to say that currently, a number of legally trained people are monitoring Conwy council planning outcomes very closely.

These housing associations don't care, its all about money from Wag. They are responsible for destroying Colwyn Bay. Also despite having all this money from Wag, they are not open to a FOI, so you have no idea what they get up to. They bought this site in league with Conwy Council, that is why they turned down planning. It would not have stood up in court
