Snowdonia... Hilton hotel being used to house asylum seekers!

The government needs to take a firm stance against these Illegal Immigrants and send them back. The worrying thing is that a large amount of them are Muslim, and this right-wing radical religion does not bod well with human rights.

These countries refuse to embrace human rights, but when someone does something to them, they all start screaming that their human rights are being breached!

And why can't this failed hotel be used for veterans or for a children's hospice?

A North Wales Hilton hotel is being used to house asylum seekers, an MP has confirmed. Robin Millar, Conservative MP for Aberconwy, is concerned about the "suitability" of the Hilton Garden Inn, at Adventure Parc Snowdonia, in Conwy, saying: "It is a hotel, not a detention centre."

It's understood weddings and events have been cancelled and that there are no rooms available to book until at least Spring 2023. The Home Office would not comment on "operational arrangements" but said it only used hotels as a "short-term solution" until "appropriate accommodation" was found.

The move comes after Home Secretary Suella Braverman was criticised over over-crowding at the Manston migrant processing centre in Kent. The former RAF base was only meant to hold 1,600 people but earlier last week it housed 4,000, many of whom crossed the English Channel from France in small boats.

It's estimated that as many as 40,000 have made the perilous crossing so far this year. North Wales Live has approached the hotel for comment.

A statement by Mr Millar, posted on Facebook, said: "It has come to my attention this evening (Sunday 6th November) that the Hilton Garden Inn at Adventure Parc Snowdonia in the Conwy Valley is providing emergency accommodation to asylum seekers whilst their applications are being processed. I've spoken with the agents for the site this evening - they have confirmed the arrangement and (it) is effective immediately."

The Home Office is responsible now for the running and operation of the site and its security. North Wales Police are also aware.

"I will be clear. I am concerned about the suitability of this property, in this location, for this purpose. It is a hotel, not a detention centre. It is isolated and unsupported by the appropriate services."

Mr Millar said he was also "very concerned" at a lack of notice, poor communication and the "impact on communities in Dolgarrog and along Dyffryn Conwy".

"I've contacted the Home Office Minister responsible (the Rt Hon Robert Jenrick MP - Minister for Immigration) for an explanation and the owner of the hotel this evening for more information and to find out more details for you.

"I have also spoken this evening with the leader of Conwy Borough Council Cllr Charlie McCoubry to see what arrangements are needed and can be put in place. He shares my concerns - it seems they too were unaware of these arrangements until yesterday/today. However, their key staff/teams are meeting tomorrow morning.

"I am in Parliament this week and will be pressing this issue as a matter of urgency with Home Office staff and the appropriate Ministers."

A spokesperson for the Home Office said: "The number of people arriving in the UK who require accommodation has reached record levels and has put our asylum system under incredible strain.

“The use of hotels to house asylum seekers is unacceptable – there are currently more than 37,000 asylum seekers in hotels costing the UK taxpayer £5.6million a day. The use of hotels is a short-term solution and we are working hard with local authorities to find appropriate accommodation.”

On the hotel's Facebook page yesterday, one person said: "Got a phone call yesterday afternoon cancelling our booking for today!! Not much notice," while another said: "They have cancelled my wedding day with just weeks to go."
