Rhyl ..Man felt ‘like a criminal’ after KFC called police following chicken dispute!

What I don.t get with people like this is why they misbehave and then are shocked that the Police get called.

Quite frankly if he chooses to eat in a budget place like this, it is his choice, but to refuse to leave was his fault, not theirs. He sounds like a right-bell end!

POLICE were called to a fast food restaurant in Rhuddlan after a man from Rhyl complained that the chicken he had ordered was not safe to eat.

Abel Dumitru, who visited KFC in Castle View Retail Park on Tuesday, October 4, said that the incident left him “embarrassed” and made him feel “like a criminal”.

Mr. Dumitru ate there with his brother, who had spent much of the day at Glan Clwyd Hospital, Bodelwyddan, and his nephew, ordering more than £60 of food.

But he said that, from his own experiences as a cook, he felt that, judging by both the color and taste of the chicken he received, the food was inedible and “horrible”.

He said: “They brought us horrible food at KFC. I had ordered two Party Buckets and extra-hot wings for over £60, but the color and the taste of them were not good.

“I used to be a cook in Rhuddlan five years ago, and I know you’re not allowed to leave food for a couple of hours; if you can’t sell it, you have to throw it away.

“But because they don’t want to waste it, they try to serve old food to the customers, which is dangerous and unfair.”

After asking if the food could be replaced, Mr. Dumitru said staff at KFC, including the manager, refused to do so.

He said that he was then asked by the manager to leave the premises along with his brother and nephew, which led to the police being called.

Mr. Dumitru eventually complied, but said the episode made him feel “disrespected” and that he “didn’t want to make a big scene”.

He added that the manager later replaced his food anyway, which caused him to wonder why he could not have done so initially.

Mr. Dumitru said: “I asked them politely if they could give me fresh food, but they refused to change the food for me and called the police to remove me from the store.

“I felt very disrespected. I felt like a criminal and embarrassed in front of the other customers and my family. I paid for the food, and this is the service I get.

“After that, we explained to the police, who were nice guys, what had happened. The police politely asked us to go out; we didn’t want to make a big scene or make things even worse.

“I followed their orders, and eventually, the police asked the manager if he could replace the food, which, after all of that, he did.

“People heard me (arguing), thinking I was a criminal. I want that place to treat other customers with respect, and give them the fresh food that they pay for.”

A North Wales Police spokesperson confirmed that officers attended the incident after being called by KFC.

A spokesperson for KFC added: “We never want any of our guests to leave feeling unhappy.

“But we always expect our teams to be treated with respect and we certainly don’t accept hostile behavior towards them.”
