Llandudno...'Airgun attacks' on people, house and car in Conwy spark police investigation

This is terrifying, what a scary thing to happen.

North Wales Police have launched an investigation after people reported being shot at with "airgun pellets" in Conwy county. One woman said she and her 80-year-old neighbor were shot by an air rifle while picking blackberries in Llandudno on Tuesday (September 13).

The woman shared pictures of small circular wounds she and her neighbor suffered after being hit in the back and the leg by what they believed to be air rifle pellets. She wrote: "Why would somebody do this? Luckily we are both ok, very shaken up though, what a world we live in."

The incident came just a day after a car traveling nearby was the target of another suspected air rifle attack. A motorist said his car windscreen was hit by what he believed to be "multiple airgun pellets" at around 7.50pm on Monday evening (September 12).

The driver said the pellets flew towards the car carrying his wife and children, causing "major damage" to his windscreen. He said that, while no one was injured in the incident, one of the pellets "narrowly missed entering the vehicle" through an open window.

A few hours after the incident, at 12.10am on Tuesday, Kathryn Jones was woken by loud bangs outside her home near Deganwy. The following morning, Ms. Jones discovered 15 holes in the windows at the side of her house.

North Wales Police confirmed they are investigating after reports of an air rifle being fired in the Penrhyn Bay area. A spokesperson said: "Specialist officers attended and searched the area. The incident is currently being investigated, and anyone with any information should contact us via our live web chat online, quoting ref B139752."
