Colwyn Bay...Broken Down Lifts Leave New Resident Panic Stricken At Notorious Block Of Flats!

 

These lifts have apparently just been fixed and now this happened today! It must have been awful for both people to experience what happened today.

JUST FOR THE RECORD ... today at around 12.30 noon I had the experience of getting stuck in the lift ... with a man I don't know ... who had a panic attack when the lift got stuck ... I just met him for the first time today as he was moving in ... and that was his first 'welcome' to Princess Court ... TWO BROKEN LIFTS ...
He was kicking at the door and trying to open it as I was yelling for HELP at the top of my voice ... thankfully ... I have a LOUD voice for just such occasions!
I pressed the 'intercom system' in the lift but the lady on the other end kept telling me she couldn't hear me ... so that's about as much use as a chocolate teapot!
Fortunately, two men were apparently 'working on the lifts' at the time of this breakdown today ... and we got out of the lift within a few minutes without having to call the Fire Service.
But that isn't the point ... the POINT IS THE LIFTS ARE DANGEROUS ... and we never know whether it's safe to get in them or not ... and that's been the situation for a long time, not just recently.
So ... I got out of the lift ... the man got on with moving himself in and hauled his stuff up the stairs to his flat ... and I went down to the Laundry Room ... shaking from just having been stuck in the lift ...
And there I found the CLEANER? CARETAKER sitting down in the Communal Lounge ... so I told him that now BOTH LIFTS were now out of service and that I'd just been stuck in one and that a man was having a panic attack ... and so was I ...
The CLEANER? CARETAKER doesn't seem to care whether the LIFT situation is CAUSING PEOPLE's DISTRESS or putting them in DANGER ... because he just laughed and said "They're being fixed." Which was a bit of a nonsensical answer ... or maybe it was just pure IGNORANCE AND LACK OF CARE ABOUT THE RESIDENTS HERE.
Obviously, this situation has been going on for so long ... that the CLEANER? CARETAKER is sick of hearing people complaining ... and so people have also stopped complaining ... because there really is NO POINT!
I then pointed out that we are now TWO DRYERS OUT OF ACTION IN THE LAUNDRY ROOM ... to which the CLEANER? CARETAKER replied with a smirk on his face ... which is often the case when I'm trying to have a serious conversation with him about issues here ... "No, it's three."
I said, "There's only a notice on 2 of them, do we know what DATE they went out of action or whether anyone has done anything about them, like contact HURST MANAGEMENT?" The reason I asked that question is that if whoever puts the notice on the machines also puts the DATE ON IT AND A SIMPLE "REPORTED" it would not leave us GUESSING whether something is being done about it or not.
That's called ORGANISATION AND COMMUNICATION and I would have thought it was within the pay grade of a CLEANER. CARETAKER to at least give the residents some information ... after all ... we only PAY TO LIVE HERE don't we?
The response to that question from the CLEANER? CARETAKER was ... "No, nobody's doing anything about it." So I asked him "Are you being facetious or are you being serious?"
To which he replied, "Of course, I'm being facetious ... "
At the end of that conversation, he got a lot off his chest and his true colors emerged as he said that he'd BE GLAD WHEN 11 OCTOBER CAME, (that's the date Section 21 asks me to leave by) ... he then accused me of CREATING TROUBLE and called me A BLOODY NIGHTMARE and then told me VERY PROFESSIONALLY ... TO SHUT MY GOB!
Ah, the joys of living at PRINCESS COURT ... where the lifts don't work, the dryers don't work, you can be having a panic attack, and the MEMBER OF STAFF WHO IS PAID TO BE A CLEANER? CARETAKER ... DOESN'T CARE ... because he only cares about the people who keep quiet and don't rock any boats, don't complain, don't ask questions, and who just roll over and wait PATIENTLY while ONE EXCUSE AFTER ANOTHER IS GIVEN ...
AND WHERE ... WHEN YOU DO COMPLAIN ... VOCIFEROUSLY ... BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT'S NEEDED HERE BEFORE ANYONE TAKES ANY NOTICE AND DOES ANYTHING ...
YOU ARE INSULTED AND BELITTLED AND PATRONISED BY THE CLEANER? CARETAKER ... WHO WAS NOWHERE AROUND WHEN THE LIFT BROKE DOWN AND I WAS SCREAMING FOR HELP AT THE TOP OF MY VOICE ...
BECAUSE HE WAS SITTING IN THE COMMUNAL ROOM HAVING A NICE CHAT WITH A RESIDENT ...
I'M NOT THE CAUSE OF THE TROUBLE AROUND HERE ... I'M THE PERSON WHO'S BROUGHT THE TROUBLE OUT INTO THE OPEN FOR SCRUTINY ...
By the way CLEANER? CARETAKER ... thank you for enquiring about the man who got stuck in the lift, and myself ... we're both fine now ... and absolutely overwhelmed by your concern ...
And yes, that's me ... being facetious!
